What’s New in 22?

Hello again, Javier here with another Tech Minute. I want to speak to you today about some new features we’re offering that should interest anyone with a fleet they wish to protect and improve. We’re aware it’s still 2021, but we just couldn’t wait to tell our customers and future customers about the progress we’ve made.

Like what, you ask?

Well, let’s see; we’ve been helping our customers monitor their refrigerated containers and trucks for some time now and recently we’ve added some intelligence to that process to make monitoring much more accurate and useful to clients. One of the features we’ve developed is what we call SmartTemp monitoring. So, instead of being alerted every time the temperature fluctuates, we have built in the capability of only alerting the customer when the temperature goes out of spec for a period of time. This helps keep false positives to a minimum.

Anything else?

We have also developed a very similar feature for alerting the customer of door open instances. Rastrac will only notify customers when the door has been left open for a certain amount of time, which is also customizable. We also monitor the refrigerant pressure and the battery in these containers, so you don’t have to react to defrost cycles, but you can react quickly to low battery levels.

Going Solar

To go along with the improved efficiency these features provide, we have introduced a new solar device for assets that can operate for years without wired power, and can report every 5 minutes when moving. To even make this a more fiscally responsible solution, this device is about 40% of the cost of other solar devices.

More to come.

So, you see, we’ve been busy. But there is more. We have recently started offering a solution to marinas around the USA, where we can track watercraft and protect them from going into restricted areas with a light or audio alarm or both. Our customers are very pleased with the elimination of so many propeller replacements and dangerous situations in swimming areas. We’ll produce another video on this solution soon.

Oops, I almost forgot.

Rastrac will also add Video telematics to our offering this year. We hope to have one of the best dashcams and driver safety software platforms available today and at a reasonable price. Testing is in process now.

Thanks for your time. Go to Rastrac.com to see more or call 512-918-0700 and ask for a Project Consultant.
